Learning In Context

Learning in Context’ is a specifically designed program that enables all students to share in the joy of musical performance. In terms one and three, students focus on the technical subtleties of their particular instrument, such as fingering, chords, notes, rhythm and song structure.

The goal of second and fourth terms is for each child to learn one or more performance specific tunes that are played at mid-year and end-of-year performances. The tunes are played in the context of a story, which is read out by the students during the performance. This gives the students an understanding of how music is applied in the real world as well as a strong goal focus throughout the year.

• Expert tuition on a range of instruments including Keyboard, Guitar, Flute, Recorder and Saxophone for your child.
• Both group and private lessons
• Very competitive rates, 9as low as $8.80 per lesson)
• Reports for each child at the end of each year
• A music leadership program that offers more advanced students the opportunity to organize and run performances
• A mentoring program that gives more advanced students the opportunity to assist younger students in lower grades
• Two performances a year with at least one held outside of school hours. This gives more family members and friends an opportunity to see their child perform.
